Shame on Pearse and Deirdre Lyons and Alltech

It is a shame it came to this - but both the Lyons failed to do anything about the complaints of the poor woman now suing for sexual harrasment. The other two women who just quit will also hopefully bring suit. I hope the two of you and the perpetrator in this case get due justice. It is high time.

Governer Cannot Act on Alltech Case But Legal Can

I contacted the Governor regarding the legality of the signing "I will not sue Alltech" notice being forced upon all employees at this illicit outfit. I got a nice response stating he of course cannot intervene but got a list of numbers for you to contact. You can get 30 minutes free consultation at the KY Lawyer Referral Service. Call: 502-583-1801. Mon to Fri 8.30AM til 1.00PM and 2.00 PM til 4.30PM.

Also Legal Aid Network of KY may be able to assist: 800-292-1862 - but mainly for low income and elderly folks.

But ALL Alltech employees should consider legal advice before signing rights away in this forced documentation being thrust upon you. I hope this helps. Several folks have called me already on this based on how they fixed a fellow co-workers non-compete clause after he had signed it. Make sure you keep copies of everything you sign or send (or get sent) via mail or Email. Record phone conversations too if you have to.

Alltech Lawsuit, Lexington Herald Leader and Cover Ups

Well finally Alltech got themselves in the Headlines in a Negative Light. The Lexington Herald Leader broke the news of a massive lawsuit against them for Sexual Harassment.

You can read more here:

Having worked for this company I am surprised it took so long to hit the bad time. The acts that I have witnessed and heard about since I left would make anyone cringe and hold this company in a light not normally seen for this big PR forward giant.

The Herald Leader would like to hear from employees (past or present) on any issues they have been involved with at this company.

Also feel free to post comments here. The dirty laundry needs to be aired somewhere before they change contracts again (see elsewhere at this site for details on contracts that get changed after the event. Next thing you know they will be asking employees to swear they will never sue them! Employers can get away with murder in KY.

Big Bully Watcher is Back

It has been awhile since any posts here and the site became password only for awhile. Some comments - no longer of timely or historical relevance have been cleared away. The Header pictures need to be replaced as they are not on the same server platform anymore. But it will come if interest continues in the site.

Head of Nutrigenomics outfit - stands on chair like the lonely goat-heard

Disgruntled employees are sharing stories of humiliation at work. Calling goats and having pants rolled to knees. Humph - interesting?

Ridiculed at Work? Serious or Funny?

Remains of an earlier posting. Big Bully Watcher is to be a site where folks can air grievances. Have you been the target of or seen acts of humiliation at work. Speak out and tell to help curb this obnoxious and growing behavior by bosses and coworkers. Want to remain anonymous? No worries _ e-mail us and let us know of any genuine outbreak of this type of behaviour and it will be covered.

The Death Industry

It is said that the alcohol business is the place to be in during a recession. Recently the news covered a few industries that will thrive in these hard times. One was the Death Industry. The lady at a Funeral home espoused "everyone dies".

The picture showed the beautiful wooden/ornate coffins or casks and it reminded me how stupid this all is. The living are preyed upon by Funeral directors. How can you not spend $5000.00 on a nice coffin to send your loved one on to wherever it is we all end up?

Bullshit! The person going into the coffin is not going to feel or notice anything. In fact once dead your life has and had no meaning to you whatsoever. So why would you want to waste your and your families hard earned money on a piece of wood? Get it over with quickly and cheaply. [By the way we all know they put you in a cheaper box if being cremated and use the same $5000.00 piece you merely rented for another schmuck.] What a business?

My late father-in-law told his family . "Cremate me and use my ashes on the ice in winter to prevent you falling". What beauty and sense. Someone else said dump my body on the Council steps and let them deal with it.

So don't be molly-coddled into spending a forture on your own burial/cremation. Trust me you won't notice or feel anything any different. And don't, like some of my family members, spend a fortune in reserving burial plots. You have better things to spend your money on while alive. By the way ensure you enjoy most of your money or gamble it away to your family members - otherwise Uncle Sam or the Chancellor of the Exchequer will take what is left (after the exorbitant burial fees are covered) gleefully.

But don't get me started on death taxes or other stupid tax laws (in England particularly ) or I won't get anything else done.

As others see us

Being English I am amused we are the final brunt of this little rhyme. There is too much political correctness in the world today (see George Carlin on that one - someone make George the President - we will be better off) and no harm is intended. But there is a grain of truth in every story. So here goes. Not sure who wrote this but it hasd been around a long time (I think Mr. Rae - previous post - first enlightened me of its existence). I present it as a bit of light relief in your every growing busyness.

There were the Scots who kept the Sabbath and everything else they could lay their hands on.

Then there were the Welsh who prayed on their knees and their neighbors.

Thirdly there were the Irish, who never knew what they wanted but were willing to fight for it anyway.

Lastly there were the English who considered themselves a self-made nation. Thus relieving the almightly of a dreadful responsibility.

An understanding of a lot of world History is buried in the nuggets here. A bit of joking around with each other can solve a lot of issues better than war.

British Muslims GO HOME

On my last visit home the case of the Muslim who evaded airport authorities by dressing up in women's garb and a veil came up again.

Now Muslims want to have driver's licences issued with pictures of them wearing full veils. To which I say FORGET IT. If you don't want to obey British rules then I say get the fuck out and go back to your own repressed and lousy countries. Suffer there baby.

Enoch Powell (who proved that not all Irish are stupid) clearly stated that all this crap would come to haunt Britain if we kept the flood gates open and let all these Asians and Muslims in. He was right. He was not a racist - just acute in his visions. The Best Prime Minister Britain Never Had. I could not agree more.

If you Muslims don't agree you are very welcome to go back home or to hell (which ever suits and is easier on you) - it doesn't matter to me - just get out of my country.

America don't let this same crap happen here either.

Is KY behind the times when it comes to regulating businesses?

Original text now lost or deleted. But this is a place to air views on the backwards nature of KY Government and how it favors Employer over Employee rights. Did you know you can be abused by your employer and have little rights over it in KY?

Non-Compete Agreements: When To Sign Them and When Not To

A certain company I worked for has been altering non-compete clauses and entire contract documents to hold former workers at bay for longer than originally discussed. Is this happening at your company or is it just an All Tech situation?

A definitive History of Biocon

The following is from a paper presented in J.Food Sci. Vol 50#4: 1211-1212 (1985 and online 2006?):

I am looking into providing a history on this now defunct(?) company that was the first US biotech company.

Does anyone know any former owner, manager or employee (Messersmith?) that can help out here?

Mass Texting Murderers

Now we have gone from idiots getting themselves killed or maimed by texting while driving to mass murderers. The recent train disasters in CA are testament to that. When will the idiot cops and government get it right and start cracking down on cell phones in the hands of those operating lethal weapons?

Watch out for a new breed of mass murderers.
